My Journey,
A Passion for Healing, Naturally.
My passion for this medicine began with my own search for healing.
My first encounter with Acupuncture was as a teenager suffering from anxiety and severe, chronic back pain resulting from an injury while diving in high school.
I went to several doctors and specialists, but couldn’t get any relief. I remember icing my back everyday just to numb the pain.
As a last resort, my mom took me to see an acupuncturist. It was the only thing that helped alleviate my pain! I finally had hope that I could be free of pain again.
After a serie of acupuncture treatments, I had such a transformative experience of healing—I could jog, do yoga, and swim again—pain free.
What surprised me most was that the acupuncture also calmed my nervous system in a way I had never experienced before.
I had become so used to functioning in survival mode, a fight-or-flight state, that I didn’t realize how much anxiety and tension I was holding.
Acupuncture helped regulate my nervous system and create a sense of ease throughout my whole body.
This profound experience planted the seed that would lead me to studying acupuncture and helping others through this medicine.
A little bit about me…
I’ve always been passionate about helping others. I began my journey with an Associate’s degree in Sign Language Interpreting and a Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education. During college, I had the opportunity to work at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind in St. Augustine, FL.
For over a decade, I worked as a sign language interpreter, supporting the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in a variety of settings. Over time, I felt called to expand the ways I could support others. My personal experience with acupuncture opened my eyes to a powerful path—one where I could combine my desire to help others with a holistic approach to healing.
This led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, which I completed in 2021. During my training, I spent over 800 hours in the clinic working directly with patients. I’m nationally board-certified in Acupuncture and Herbology as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, and I’m a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist in the state of Connecticut.
In 2022, I relocated from Oregon to Connecticut with my partner and our dog to be closer to family. My practice is located in Avon, CT. I’m fluent in American Sign Language and committed to creating a practice that is inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to all.
Having navigated my own health challenges, I’m deeply drawn to this medicine that honors the body’s natural ability to heal. I love working collaboratively with my patients to restore balance and support lasting transformation.
I specialize in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture and Microneedling to help reduce signs of aging, support graceful aging, and promote deep healing.
I’m also passionate about treating musculoskeletal pain, migraine headaches, anxiety, and symptoms associated with PMS, PMDD, and perimenopause.
In my free time, you can find me knitting, doing puzzles, practicing yoga, walking with my dog, or enjoying quiet time on the porch.
